Heavy-Duty Mechanic

OVERVIEW:

  • Shifts Available: Afternoon and Midnights

  • 2 Years of experience in Heavy Duty Truck Maintenance Required

  • Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 /hour Based on Experience

  • Job Type: Full Time

  • Overtime Available

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understanding of how to perform a DOT inspection on either a Heavy Duty Tractor OR Trailer

  • Understanding of Preventative Maintenance on a Heavy Duty Tractor OR Trailer

  • Understand of diagnostic software for different types of Heavy Duty Tractors. (Detroit, Cummins, CAT, Road Ranger, ECT)

  • Understanding of how to properly install Drum Brakes on Heavy Duty Tractor AND Trailer

  • Understanding of how Manual and Automatic transmissions work

  • Understanding of how to replace common components on a Heavy Duty Tractor and Trailer (Water pumps, surge tanks, starters, alternators, ECT)

ABOUT CMAC:

Successful Veteran Owned Transportation Company in Brownstown MI is looking for truck/trailer Mechanics to fill immediate Full-Time openings to maintenance trucks and trailers in fleet. 40+ hours per week in a New State of the Art Maintenance Facility. Diesel Mechanic should have a valid chauffeur’s license required to drive company equipment, good reporting and organization skills, Be Professional and possess good verbal communication skills.

Fueler (Fuel Maintence Technician)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To fuel company fleet and inspect units for new damage/issues while encouraging sanitation/cleaning of unit while at the fuel island. Follow safety procedures at all times and wear safety gear when applicable.

  • Activate fuel pumps and fill fuel tanks of company equipment to specified levels

  • Provide cleaning/sanitation supplies for incoming drivers to fuel island

  • Ask drivers to remove trash during fueling process

  • Perform walk around inspection of tractors including thumping tires to check inflation, turn signals, rear brake lights and mud flaps. – Note any new damage

  • Empty all trash cans in yard during shift

  • Keep fuel island area clear of debris

  • Communicate with Supervisors/dispatch/drivers as needed

  • Follow safety procedures – i.e. wearing safety gear (welding helmet, safety glasses, vest) when needed

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions

  • Valid chauffeurs license required to drive company equipment

  • Reporting Skills, Organization, Professionalism, Verbal Communication, Team player, Honesty
